 Cricket is the most popular sport in India. It is played by many people at anywhere throughout the country. Indians treat cricket and movies as a  religion in India. Cricket was followed by huge number of people in our country.

India adopted this game during 1918- 1930(pre-independence). But their debut at international test cricket was in 1932 against England at Lord's cricket ground. Massive People were crowded to witness game of debutante (team India). England had  won by 158 runs.The team played first series as an independent country was in 1948 against Australia at Brisbane. The Australians returned home winning 5 test series with the score 4-0.

India's first ever victory was came against England at madras in 1952.In the same year India had won their first ever test series victory which came against Pakistan. In 1954 India draw a 5- test series with Pakistan with the score 0-0,which is first ever test series draw for India. From their India had  increase their standards reached to a big fame following downfalls. India has proved themselves with winning of ICC world cup 1983 by beating consecutive two times champion west indies in a thrilling final. India had won their first ICC event under kapil dev captaincy. Then Indians became comfortable with the limited over game and owning the conditions with some incredible series wins against mighty teams following looses which are the part of a game. Cricket craze started growing in India after winning 1983 world cup and ODI series

 

 India had a great players like Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly who are the reason for the cricket to spread all over in India.

Indian cricket team had lot of talent which let the whole world to look at our country. India won the inaugural ICC T20 world cup in 2007 against their rivalry Pakistan by a thrilling win of 5 runs. Later year a league has appeared in India named IPL(Indian premier League) which consist of 8 teams of Indian states and also includes foreign big names with young Indian talent. The teams in  clothes of different color had attracted people from all corners of India. The league changed Indians to practice cricket everywhere in India. In 2011 India had won ICC world cup after 28 years in their home country under captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Later they also won champions trophy in 2013 under MSD captaincy and ms Dhoni became the first captain to win all icc events. Many great records in cricket were held by Indians,mainly by the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar who lifted the Indian team to great height through his excellent batting skills. There are many people who are the reason for the country to shine in cricket. Now many young people were following cricket and want to reach great heights in India. Present team India is doing well at international cricket with great talented players.
